HAPPY (FRIDAY) HALLOWEEN: "Pink and Black Gal-loween" Tablescape

Friday is here.  And, it's Halloween!  I'm excited to share with you a tablescape which I collaborated with my sister, Rose from Design by Occasion.  We are calling it:  "Pink and Black Gal-loween".  The "gal" is for the girly girl in us, as well as the pink tones incorporated in the design.  This table setting is perfect for a few of your gals who enjoy a little glitz and glam.  Here you can enjoy a signature pink cocktail drink, nibble on a few desserts and enjoy the scenery of glossy black pumpkins, embellished masks and an amazing floral design.

While this is not your traditional Halloween, we stepped outside the box when coming up with the design.  The idea of pink, reminded me of Glinda, the good witch and the black represented the wicked witch of the west.  And, how fitting of an idea; especially when two sisters are creating the look.  Not to say one is good and one is wicked (we both have a little of each - lol).

Pink and gray-pinstripe fabric set the theme for the black, white and gold tones

Black and white stripe dinnerware, layered with a floral design pattern
add the ying and yang of masculine and feminine.
Topped by glossy black pumpkins for added drama.

Embellished masks help decorate the table to for a stylish and glamorous look.
And, of course, tasty treats for the occasion.

It was so much fun collaborating with my sister.  Even though we created this design together, we both were inspired in different ways. Take a moment to head on over to Design by Occasion for more.

Enjoy and Happy Halloween!

WARDROBE WEDNESDAY: My Look from MANGO USA

Happy Hump day and my official start to my mini vacation.  My sister is in town, so I'm looking forward to spending as much time with her!

Today's look is from MANGO USA.  The weather on the east coast is chilly during the early mornings and late evenings but warmer during the day.  So, I put together a day dress that you can dress up or down.  Here's a more casual and edgy version.  This store is one of my go to places for reasonably priced apparel and fashionable looks.  And, if I have time, there's a store in NYC (34th St., Herald Sq.) that I can check out.

Camo-print dress
Buckle leather ankle boots
Wool-blend long cardigan (I ordered this is the camel color)

I found so many pieces, I'm pinning like crazy!  To see their full line, click here.

Happy shopping!

ROOMS THAT INSPIRE

Hope you all had a great weekend.  Mr. D. and I celebrated our 6th year wedding anniversary.  We enjoyed a lovely night out with a seafood dinner. It was nice to reflect on our six years together and how we look forward to many more.

Onto today's post, I want to share with you, interior designer, Kendall Wilkinson.  She is considered one of the most sought after residential designers in the West.  Impressive!  And, you'll see why . . . from traditional to modern, she delivers.  From fabrics, to colors, to artwork and accessories; everything is thoughtfully planned out and perfect.  I love how the color palette flows throughout the homes she designs.   Take a look at some of my favorite designs.

In my next life, I would love to become an interior designer!  For now, I'll simply admire and continue to be inspired by some incredible interior designers.  For more of Kendall Wilkinson's designs, click here.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Friday is here!  I love Fridays . . . don't you?

This Sunday, we will be celebrating our 6th year wedding anniversary.  As I began looking through the wedding photos, memories of that day bring such joy to my heart and a big smile on my face!

As I reflect on the six years since being married, I am grateful and blessed to have John as my husband.  Those that know him, know how sweet, giving and caring he is.  Not to label him as perfect, I'll throw in, what a wise ass he can be  . . . sometimes.  He has been there for me when I've been down; when I've been in the hospital (more than I'd like to count); when I'm stressed or acting like a drama queen.  I love his silly ways and put up with his gross moments (lol).  I look forward to many more years together.

Join me in going down memory lane; to our wedding day (which was a picture perfect October day).  The photos were taken by the talented, Rick Helman.  To see more of his work, check out his website here.  You can see some of the photos of me and John on his website too.

Joining us in this shot, is the best man and my beautiful sister.

I love this photo captured by the photographer.

My beautiful sister sister!

You may now kiss the bride.

My face hurt from smiling all day.  Happy lady!
Yes, those were live train tracks!
And, these shots were taken before the ceremony.

Yes, it was that serious . . . bad ass photo shot!

This was our sexy shot (lol)!
